Quickstart Guide
This guide helps you make Sweet Home for Vantage working in a few steps.
1. Build a touchscreen interface with your Design Center
- Open the Vantage Design Center software.
- Add a Generic TPT touchscreen and start designing a new interface.
If you need to use the Set LCD Page procedure in your Design Center tasks, you must inherit a TPT 1210 touchscreen from Design Center 3.2 and use that TPT instead of the Generic TPT.
However, if you already have an existing touchscreen, you can convert it into a TPT touch device and follow the same steps described below, as if you were creating the interface from scratch.
2. Export your graphics file locally
Once you have a valid interface in Design Center, proceed as follows:
- Choose
Design
->Export
. - Click on
<Export Files...>
and select a local directory to export all the required files.
In the destination folder, you will find a configuration file named LcdConfig.xml
along with all other graphical resources.
3. Prepare the graphics file
Go to the directory where you exported the resources:
LcdConfig.xml
Images/
Compress these files into a ZIP archive.
The LcdConfig.xml
file and the Images
folder must be in the root of the ZIP archive, without subfolders.
zipname.zip
├── Images
└── LcdConfig.xml
You can verify that using WinRAR.
4. Import graphics into the app
You have three options to import graphics into the app:
- a) Import from Sweet Home Cloud
- b) Import locally using the device's file manager
- c) Import using iTunes (legacy method)
If you have one or more systems already configured (graphics correctly imported on the app for them), the Sweet Home app won't enter on the Operator Mode at startup. To access the operator mode, please refer to the following sections: Single System Configured, Multiple Systems Configured
a) Import from Sweet Home Cloud
You need to activate the license before using this method. Check the step Activate the license to see how to do it.
First, upload the graphics file to the cloud before downloading it in the app:
On the Sweet Home site:
- Log in to the website.
- Go to the Licenses page and select the cloud icon next to the ticket activated on your device.
- Click the blue arrow next to the system for which you want to upload graphics.
- On the system page, choose your ZIP file and click
Upload graphics
.
On the Sweet Home mobile app:
- Go to the
Systems
settings page. - Select the desired system.
- Tap the
DOWNLOAD GRAPHICS
button.
b) Import locally using the device's file manager
Ensure the ZIP file is stored on your device's file manager.
For example, on iOS or iPadOS, the file should be in the Files
app.
On the Sweet Home mobile app:
- Go to the
Systems
settings page. - Select the desired system.
- Tap the
SELECT GRAPHICS
button and choose the ZIP file.
c) Import using iTunes (legacy method)
If you prefer importing the ZIP file via iTunes, name the file following this format:
system1.zip
, system2.zip
, etc., up to the maximum number of systems allowed by your license.
For example, if you want to import graphics for system 1, name the file system1.zip
.
(If file extensions are hidden on your computer, the name should be system1
).
After renaming the file, import it using iTunes as shown in the video tutorial.
Then, completely close the Sweet Home app on the iPad and reopen it.
5. Activate the license
Now, you need to activate your license ticket on the app's Ticket Activation page.
Make sure you have the purchased license's ticket and the user email of the Sweet Home site account to whom the license belongs.
Once successfully activated, the bottom banner becomes green and a popup message confirm you the activation.
6. Configure the system (e.g. home)
Depending on which license type you activated, you might see one or more available systems (e.g. houses) on the app.
The procedure to configure the system do not change in those cases (one or more systems). You have two options to configure a system:
- a) On-Cloud System Configuration
- b) In-app System Configuration
